Putting it together.

You made it! You have learned a lot about data, how to collect, find and use data, and ways of presenting information.

Now you can put it all together! Use this task sheet

You can also look at the marking guide for this task.

You are going to make a presentation about your class.

The presentation must tell the audience at least 4 of the following about your classmates:

  1. How many boys and girls are in your class

  2. Your ages

  3. How you come to school each day

  4. Your favourite fruit or vegetable

  5. Your favourite sport

  6. What country your family comes from

  7. Your favourite thing to learn at school

  8. Your pets

You need to collect, record and organise this information - create and conduct a survey, then use an excel spreadsheet, graph or table to organise your data.

Then choose how to present this information. Some ideas from our work so far:

A word cloud

A graph or table

A written description

An iMovie using pictures or images

A recorded speech

An Excel spreadsheet

A pictograph or infograph

Once you have made your presentation, you need to write an evaluation for your teacher that explains

  1. the information you chose to include

  2.  the audience you designed your project for

  3. why your project makes the data understandable for that audience.

Congratulations on becoming a 21st century data handler!
